Overview
Nextedy MEDIAKIT manages attachments on Polarion work items, with multiple-file drag-and-drop upload and in-place image and video previews.
Working with supporting files
Files can be attached in batches and managed directly from the work item. The Reading Pane previews images and videos without first downloading them or opening a separate application. The vendor describes a consistent attachment experience across modern and legacy browsers.
Gallery and attachment views
The gallery and standard attachment list present the same underlying files through different views. Documentation separates file handling from the available preview behavior and provides a supported-file-types reference.
The file-type guide distinguishes image thumbnails and full-size image viewing from the type icons used for recognized PDF, text and video files. Playback depends on the browser. This is the technical-guide description alongside the broader marketing preview wording.
Upload and installation workflow
The guides describe upload prerequisites and the steps for adding files. Installation guidance covers preparing the Polarion environment and deploying MEDIAKIT. Product documentation and FAQs provide the associated usage guidance.
Uploading a file with an existing name replaces its content without a confirmation prompt; the previous revision remains available through Polarion’s Show revisions. The standard Attachments table refreshes after a page reload.
MEDIAKIT uses ordinary Polarion attachment permissions, and the work item must have been saved at least once. Uninstalling the extension retains the attachments. The documented PDF export of a rich page does not include the gallery.
The installation guide requires Java 17 and distinguishes two builds: Polarion 2512 or earlier uses the Tomcat 9 build, while Polarion 2606 or later uses the Tomcat 11 build because of the servlet API difference.
Polarion compatibility
Nextedy states that its products support Polarion versions officially supported by Siemens, plus one additional year, and are compatible with the newest Polarion release when it is released. Its documentation illustrates this policy with Polarion 2304 and 2310.
Captured maintenance release
The installation page captured on 25 October 2026 identifies version 26.8.0 as a security maintenance release.
