Overview
Nextedy GANTT schedules native Polarion work items with dependencies, automatic scheduling, critical-path visibility and resource workload views.
Scheduling native engineering work
Tasks, assignments and dependencies use the same Polarion records as the engineering teams. The vendor describes automatic recalculation of dependent dates, visible scheduling conflicts and a critical path that identifies the task chain driving the finish date. New work items can be created directly in the chart within configured linking and structural rules.
Resource and project views
Resource views show workload across people and projects. Multiple load-calculation modes help teams see over-allocation and rebalance work. GANTT and PLANNINGBOARD share the native Polarion architecture and can be used together for traditional scheduling, iterative planning and capacity management.
Baseline comparison
Teams can capture a plan snapshot and compare the current schedule with a selected baseline. Documentation describes one-time comparison from the toolbar and a persistent baseline display, making schedule movement visible in the chart.
The comparison guide supports a date, named baseline or SVN revision. It also documents a NEW badge for items added since the comparison point, introduced in version 25.3.0.
Automatic and manual control
Automatic scheduling can be enabled by configuration and toggled during use. The documented workflow combines automatic date propagation with manual control where required. Prerequisites and verification steps are described in the scheduling guide.
The auto-scheduling guide describes finish-to-start propagation and a user toggle for automatic scheduling. It states that concurrent saves use last-save-wins behavior without concurrent-edit conflict detection.
Polarion environment
GANTT retains Polarion permissions, record history and audit trail. Nextedy states that its products support Polarion versions officially supported by Siemens, plus one additional year, and are compatible with the newest Polarion release when it is released. Its documentation illustrates this policy with Polarion 2304 and 2310. Installation and configuration guidance is provided through the Nextedy documentation and support center.
